(Senior) Underwriter Construction / Technical Insurance (m/f/d) Austria & CSEE Permanent Position, Location: Vienna, Austria DISCOVERyour opportunity What will your essential responsibilities include?
  • Profit-oriented underwriting and management of industrial business in the area of Technical Insurance - especially with a focus on national and international construction projects and machinery insurance
  • Specialised and service-oriented customer support for internationally operating brokerage firms and in-house brokers in the field of Technical Insurance
  • Sales activities for profitable business expansion in collaboration with the Account Managers
  • Risk technical analysis in collaboration with the in-house risk engineers
  • Drafting and documenting policies
  • Cross-departmental cooperation and technical coordination
  • Decision-making (within the scope of authority) regarding the acceptance, retention, modification, or rejection of a risk
  • Utilisation of existing pricing tools
  • Design and creative involvement in the innovative development of the Technical Insurance product range
  • Underwriting of international programs

  • Completed university or technical college degree, preferably in an engineering discipline, with at least 5 years of professional experience in Technical Insurance sectors
  • Risk technical understanding of the various types of coverage in the field of Technical Insurance (construction, assembly, machinery breakdown, electronics insurance)
  • Very good internal and external communication skills
  • Sales orientation
  • Negotiation skills in German and English; additional South or Eastern European languages are an advantage
  • Very good PC application skills (MS Office)
  • Willingness to travel, including internationally
  • Excellent time management and strong organizational skills
  • Commitment, resilience, and a stable, convincing personality
  • Well-developed team player qualities
