GENERAL PURPOSE Responsible for the art direction, styling, and execution for all Herman Miller Brand creative in the Retail channel. Creative lead on all photo/video assets and deliverables, from concept to asset production, for digital, print, and social placement, working with inputs from Brand, Merchandising, Retail Marketing, and Production teams. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Art direct prioritized brand executions and retail marketing strategy to ensure the consistent communication of Herman Miller’s brand voice to our retail customers. Art direct location and studio shoots to produce photography and video assets that support (a) the selling and promotion of our brand and products in the Retail channel and (b) consumer-focused Brand messages in our social media channels. Creates seasonal Brand direction and collaborates with internal Retail merchandising and styling teams to bring Brand vision to life in retail environments. Partners with Brand editorial and Retail copywriter for holistic concept development. Partners with production design leads to create ecosystem and shoot plans for seasonal campaigns based on input from Brand Creative, Retail Merchandising, and Retail Marketing. Reports to Brand creative team, with dotted lines to Retail marketing leadership, production designers, and product management. This role helps ensure consistent and effective processes are established for ongoing completion of work across Brand and Retail teams. Selects, manages and directs the work of external photographers, stylists, graphic designers, and illustrators as needed. Manage post production and retouching of photography and video assets. Creative/design review and approval of email and social posts. Ability to travel consistently for scouting and shoot production. Education/Experience Education/Experience - Not Parsed Licenses and Certifications Skills and Abilities Bachelors Degree in interior design, graphic design, industrial design, textiles, or related field . 7-10 years of previous experience in Retail merchandising, art direction, brand creative, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Broad knowledge of the interior design industry, decorative arts, and home goods retail space. Gained knowledge of Herman Miller marketing and brand communications strategy. Team player with the ability to influence, gain consensus and implement ideas. Excellent communication, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills. Demonstrated excellence in working as part of a larger creative team. Demonstrated ability to effectively use software and design tools used within the Herman Miller environment, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, Figma, and others. Ability and willingness to travel as needed to achieve business objectives (at least 30%). Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. A starting compensation range for this role is $100,450.00 - $126,850.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors .
