Conduct studies related to the use of standardized data for public and private health care information systems that advance improvements in health care quality, cost and access through the routine use of information technology. Analyze requirements for health information systems that meet the needs of public health programs and systems. Identify and develop the need for new or modified standards and, using these standards, the need of innovative strategies for building, modifying, or establishing interoperable IT systems throughout the public health and health care sectors to enhance vital statistics and other associated health data Expand and enhance the use of standards-based interoperable system capabilities and strategies between clinical, administrative, and governmental systems such as electronic health records, medical examiner electronic case management systems, prescription drug database Serve as a representative and liaison to the major health care IT entities in hospitals, medical examiner/coroner offices, funeral homes, etc.; and to health data standards-related organizations in the United States, including the HL7 and the IHE organizations Education Educationpleted in colleges or universities oute the United States may be used to meet the education requirements.
