This temporary position is located in Raleigh – Wake County.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $30.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Public Safety. This position is located at 2020 Yonkers Rd, Raleigh, NC 27699.

This position will assist the Grants Supervisor in managing the determination of federal cash requirements and the drawdown of federal grant funds.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• Considerable knowledge of governmental accounting methods, procedures, and financial practices.

• Ability to use accounting judgment and theory in a wide variety of situations that are not covered by regulations or precedents.

• Ability to develop complex accounting worksheets and reports.

• Ability to present results of the analysis to program administrators and negotiate changes and/or implementations.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor s degree in accounting, or a degree in business administration, finance or public administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution with 18 semester hours of accounting coursework; and two years of professional accounting/auditing experience in the preparation of interpretive or analytical accounting/ financial statements and reports; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
