For more than 150 years, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) has been a leader in educating the world’s most influential artists, designers and scholars. Located in downtown Chicago with a fine arts graduate program consistently ranking among the top four graduate fine arts programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report, SAIC provides an interdisciplinary approach to art and design as well as world-class resources, including the Art Institute of Chicago museum, on-campus galleries and state-of-the-art facilities. This fully-remote, temporary position will support the operations of the office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for Academic Affairs within the Dean’s Office.
Updating dedicated DEIAA pages on saic.edu
Scheduling meetings with faculty and departments and Director of DEIAA
Scheduling and coordinating DEI workshops and events
Scheduling planning meetings with Director of DEIAA
Placing catering orders
Booking travel accommodations for visitors
Making posters and advertising
Staffing events/providing tech support
Administering Diversity Infusion Grant (DIG) awards:
Drafting and sending announcement
Collecting and tracking applications
Scheduling review committee
Confirming with and tracking recipients
Processing payments for and on behalf of recipients and tracking dollars spent
Following up with past recipients for deliverables
Scheduling the Diversity Action Group (DAG) meetings as needed
Supplemental support for institutional DEI/anti-racism initiatives
SAIC common read workshops
High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
One to two years’ experience in office management preferred
Experience in higher education administration preferred
