Position Summary

This fully-remote, temporary position will support the operations of the office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for Academic Affairs within the Dean’s Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Updating dedicated DEIAA pages on saic.edu

  • Scheduling meetings with faculty and departments and Director of DEIAA

  • Scheduling and coordinating DEI workshops and events

    • Scheduling planning meetings with Director of DEIAA

    • Booking space

    • Placing catering orders

    • Booking travel accommodations for visitors

    • Making posters and advertising

    • Staffing events/providing tech support

  • Administering Diversity Infusion Grant (DIG) awards:

    • Drafting and sending announcement

    • Collecting and tracking applications

    • Scheduling review committee

    • Confirming with and tracking recipients

    • Processing payments for and on behalf of recipients and tracking dollars spent

    • Following up with past recipients for deliverables

  • Scheduling the Diversity Action Group (DAG) meetings as needed

  • Supplemental support for institutional DEI/anti-racism initiatives

    • SAIC common read workshops

Qualifications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some sitting/standing

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • One to two years’ experience in office management preferred

  • Experience in higher education administration preferred
