Position Highlights
The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer through patient care, research, and education. The UACC has recently been re-designated as a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center. The UACC is the only NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center headquartered in the State of Arizona and one of only 53 in the nation.
The UACC is recruiting for an Administrative Support Assistant II. This position reports to the Senior Director of Development and performs varied advanced administrative and development-related work unique to the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement functions within UArizona and the UACC. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and organization; accuracy and attention to detail; use of good judgment; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects; and a high degree of computer proficiency.
This position is a member of the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement (PAE) team and subject to joint management by the UACC and the University of Arizona Foundation as specified in the Amended and Restated Development Services and Asset Management Agreement dated July 2, 2021.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for the Senior Director, such as creating and maintaining various organizational systems and list-serves.
- Ensure office operations are efficient and in compliance with UADP and department policies and procedures.
- Schedule meetings and appointments as requested by supervisors.
- Proactively manage Senior Director’s calendars to include high-level donor visits and various department and UADP meetings.
- Process acknowledgment letters for donor gifts, including pulling reports, updating, printing, and mailing letters in accordance with Central UADP Stewardship procedures and deadlines.
- Assist with mailing other stewardship-related correspondence such as includes printing and mailing letters in consultation with the Stewardship Officer and manager.
- Prepare gift transmittal forms and non-gift deposit transmittal (and is knowledgeable about required documentation and fund numbers assigned) for UADP Financial Services.
- Prepare expense and travel reimbursements and authorizations to submit to the business office or UAF Financial Services for processing and authorization.
- Enter Senior Director activity and other information into the Lynx database, as requested.
- Assist in supporting unit development team priorities and events.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
- Excellent knowledge of office and administrative procedures and policies and proficient in MS Office
- Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including written and oral communication.
- Exceptional organizational skills: detail-oriented, able to prioritize strategically, and effectively juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of basic accounting.
- Ability to coordinate marketing materials and department website.
- Ability to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Expertise in all Microsoft programs, including organizational templates related to project management.
- Working knowledge of CRM platform.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
