The Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA) has been providing exceptional patient and family focused health care and social services to the people of Kodiak Island since 1966. KANA’s patient-centered medical home model incorporates Behavioral Health, Dental, and Pharmacy services within the primary care setting to facilitate an advanced support system that ensures our patients’ needs are met. KANA also offers Child Services and Youth Prevention programs; Women, Infant and Children (WIC); Vocational Rehabilitation; Employment and Training services; Early Childhood and Infant Learning, and a full service fitness center to support the whole person.

This position supports multiple programs, grants and initiatives across KANA by assisting with data collection, monitoring, and reporting progress towards performance goals; conducting quality assurance audits and ensuring corrective actions are taken as needed; as well as completing special projects to assist improvement efforts and filling ad hoc data requests as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Support the organization’s mission and goals, quality standards, and patient-centered medical home philosophy. Embrace KANA’s culture of serving the whole person through our provision of services. - Uphold KANA’s Code of Ethics by conducting professional activities with honesty, integrity, respect, fairness, and good faith in a manner that reflects positively upon the organization.
- Work with ANTHC on the validation of new clinical reporting tools and dashboards as they become available.
- Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) audits for multiple departments within the organization. Report QA outcomes to appropriate staff, trend QA measures, and provide recommendations for training opportunities and/or workflow adjustments.
- Produce, maintain, and distribute internal operational reports on a regular and ongoing basis.
- Compile data to support grant reporting, accreditation procedures, KANA operational reports and any other ad hoc data requests.
- Assist in conducting workshops, training, or other education sessions for management and staff on external ANTHC reporting tools.
- Participate in quality improvement related committees and work-groups.
- Manage KANA’s empaneled population by regularly reviewing for accuracy and making empanelment changes as needed.
- Manage and validate patient preventative screening and chronic care disease registries in KANA’s population health management software; including chart reviewing patient electronic health records for accuracy.
- Participate in KANA’s quality improvement processes. Assist with other quality improvement projects as assigned, to include ensuring the quality program is continually meeting accreditation and community health center funding requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in statistics, data analytics, data science, healthcare administration, other health related field, or business administration and demonstrated experience with health information technology, data analysis and reviewing for data quality; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong organizational skills, and proven ability to handle multiple projects and competing deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work collaboratively with various staff and departments, as well as work independently.
