As a Data Entry Operator for Academic Profile (AP) will be part of a team responsible for entering faculty accomplishment data into an online database. Expertise and knowledge understanding the various data entry essentials of a faculty curriculum vita (CV). Lead Data entry to help validate and lead discussions on decision making. Be accountable for attending training sessions and assisting faculty with navigating in the system and questions. Continues to work on the AP guideline for data entry per the changing logic for each college. Help to create test books for reports created in AP and continual support with testing the output when new changes have been created within AP. Presents feedback when requested for scenarios needing valid input regarding data within the system.

Data Entry Operator II Job Description:

45% Data entry

  • Enter CV date, College systems into Academic Profile
  • Attend DE Meetings
  • Knowledge of Date Entry Team (DET) procedures
  • Respond to DET questions as appropriate
  • Understanding of DET current/relevant issues/concerns

20% Testing reports/metrics

  • Tracks report development status with Project Admin/S and internal team, tests and revises, as necessary.
  • Help develop, implement, assesses and modifies (as necessary) report testing strategy.
  • Help develop test data and procedures to detect project, data, and/or system errors.

20% Review material and identify issues

  • Review institutional policies related to reappointment, promotion and tenure (RPT).
  • Review institutional policies related to faculty evaluation.
  • Identify issues that need addressed related to RPT and annual review evaluations.

10% Train and assists faculty and new employees

  • Interacts with faculty, academic staff, and administrators to investigate/resolve support issues.
  • Interacts with faculty and academic staff during rollout training and continuing education workshops.

5% Create and revise training materials

  • Works with Academic Profile (AP) team to draft new policy/procedures/standards for the project and office.
  • Continues work on the AP guidelines for data entry per the changing logic for each college.
  • Other assignments as assigned

This is a limited term position, funded for 12 months from date of hire, with possible extension.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in one year of Data Processing, Key Punching or database entry; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in data processing, key entry or database entry; may require spreadsheet and/or word processing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
