Director of Internal Controls and SOX Compliance

AgCarolina Farm Credit has an open position for a Director of Internal Controls and SOX Compliance. In this role, the Director of Internal Controls would ensure the organization’s internal control environment is structured and administered in accordance with SOX section 404 requirements. This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

How you will impact AgCarolina Farm Credit:

• Provide enterprise wide strategic leadership on internal controls framework design
• Oversee and drive SOX section 404 implementation
• Administer the annual Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) plan which includes ICFR scoping analysis and financial statement mapping
• Monitor for control deficiencies and gaps identified as part of the SOX section 404 readiness assessment
• Support business operations with sound internal controls design and administration for process, operational and/or system changes
• Research, interpret, document and lead efforts to implement new or modifications in accounting standards
• Engage with Audit Committee and Board of Directors on accounting, internal controls and SOX related matters

What you need to succeed:

• Education and/or experience equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or other related field
• Certified Public Accountant
• 5-7 years of applicable experience, including recent SOX section 404 experience and/or related ICFR accounting experience (public or corporate)
• Strong knowledge of SOX section 404 requirements and COSO 2013 framework
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
• Detail oriented and excellent communication (oral and written) skills
• Must be a quick learner, adaptable and highly organized
• Computer experience with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Work independently under general supervision
