VEGETABLE MARKET GARDEN FARM GROWER

The Greensted LLC is a multi-enterprise urban farm looking for an experienced vegetable grower. Experience could be from working for a market garden farm, homesteader who grows their own produce or someone who has worked in a garden nursery starting and growing vegetables. All growing experience will be considered. We use regenerative soil building practices, organic strategies and grow successions of many things. WE DO NOT USE ANY HARMFUL CHEMICAL APPLICATIONS on our food. This means the labor to naturally and sustainably control weeds and pests is intense.

We grow produce (greens, tomatoes, peppers, beans, peas, roots, melons, herbs, etc) for our Community Supported Agriculture memberships, for direct sale to consumers and supplying some grocery and co-op stores. It’s crucial perspective candidates can work full days in all kinds of weather, be strong able to lift 75 pounds or more regularly and able to do tasks and projects independently yet always aware of the impact on the team and the business.

The position requires:

• Full time 8 hours daily. Generally Monday – Friday and some Saturdays
• Shifts generally 7 to 3:30, flexible with weather and needs of business
• Able to lift 75+ pounds regularly
• Can speak and read English well
• Able to follow written communication carefully
• Takes verbal instruction well, does not forget details
• Is well spoken, can converse with customers as needed
• Leadership qualities to assist with leading other workers
• Is generally good natured and a positive person
