Position Summary:

Under direct supervision completes a variety of tasks involved in the cleaning of patient rooms, staff work areas, and common areas by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Prepares and stocks cart for cleaning tasks.

2. Cleans patient’s rooms, staffing areas, common areas, and clinics on a daily basis. Cleaning task consist of but are not limited to:

• Disinfecting and sterilizing equipment and supplies.

• Dusting furniture and woodwork.

• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.

• Removing trash and shredding materials.

• Changing linens in patient rooms.

• Cleaning of additional furniture and fixtures.

3. Removes new stains from the furniture, carpet, or other areas in the hospital.

4. Cleans windows and walls when asked to assist maintenance.

5. Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

• None applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in patient and personnel communications.

• Demonstrated ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Demonstrated ability to interact with people at various levels in a courteous, tactful and poised manner.
