PRIMARY DUTY:
The School of Agricultural Sciences at Northwest Missouri State University is seeking a faculty member to teach introductory and/or upper-level systems management courses that meet the needs of the School of Agricultural Sciences The successful candidate will be responsible for providing undergraduate instruction in systems management and developing coursework for a Systems Management for Manufacturing and Agribusiness minor. Ideal qualities: demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and curriculum development, student support, university service, and scholarly activity, ability to integrate technology and experiential learning into course materials, versatile and willing to serve as an integral part of a diversified and active team of agricultural sciences faculty.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Plan, organize, and provide instruction for 24-26 credit hours/year of introductory and/or upper-level systems management courses during the fall and spring trimesters including AC/DC electricity, sensor technology, robotics and automation, facility management, welding/metal fabrication and/or equipment/machinery management.
2. Obtain and maintain NC3 certifications for teaching by attending classes and training.
3. Professional development participation including grant writing and research activities if hired as an Assistant Professor.
4. Commitment to the development and execution of experiential learning opportunities for students.
5. Collaboration with private and governmental entities to meet the customized training demands needs of regional employers.
6. Operate and maintain technologies relevant to the discipline
7. Supervision and advisement of students and student organizations
8. Assist with the development of student recruitment activities.
9. University service including committee work and participation in School of Agricultural Science activities
10. Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS: Education: MS in Industrial Technology or Agricultural Systems Management or closely related field for Instructor or Lecturer; PhD in Industrial Technology or Agricultural Systems Management or closely related field for Assistant Professor
Experience: Knowledge of U.S. industrial technology or agricultural systems management; teaching experience at the university level and/or relevant industry experience
Skills: Effective interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills; successful teaching and curriculum development skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level teaching experience at the university level and/or five years of relevant industry experience
WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical university classroom, laboratory, and office conditions
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Undergraduate and graduate students
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Typical classroom and laboratory technologies
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to complete essential functions in classroom and laboratories
