Position Overview

This position will lead the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of systems to conform to the ISO-9001 quality system standard for the site. The position will partner with regional quality manager as well as site leadership to ensure quality assurance support remains effective, and to foster improvement activities.
Job Responsibilities

Safety

Ensures that safe work practices are followed; ensures Hexion Safety Manual is followed.

Participates in safety audits, training, inspections, and PSM/PHA activities.

Enters safety concerns into the system and to participate on the incident investigation teams to prevent reoccurrences.

Willingness and ability to ensure that all team assigned safety requirements are met on a monthly basis and participate on the site’s Safety Committee as needed.

Quality

Lead the activities required to implement, maintain, and improve systems that conform to the ISO-9001 quality system standard including but not limited to: System and procedure development and control, Training, Internal auditing, Corrective and Preventive Actions and Management Review.

Lead the overall operation of the Quality assurance program and quality control testing, including, but not limited to: Analysis of materials: Ensure that all in-process quality control testing is completed per work instructions. Ensure that all finished material quality control/assurance testing is completed and the appropriate records are maintained. Ensure that nonconforming material is handled per the appropriate procedure(s). Ensure plant operators are trained in proper quality control methods and procedures.

Oversee the approval, maintenance, and calibration of measurement equipment used for product testing. Ensure that measuring equipment within manufacturing is maintained and calibrated.

Leadership

Works well with others; promotes attitude of continuous improvement.

Independently completes day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision and to complete other special assignments, with an appropriate level of supervisory involvement Practices Hexion Core Values in daily activities and adheres to all Company polices and procedures.

Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed to maintain business coverage.

Minimum Qualifications

2 or 4 year science degree preferred, minimum High School Diploma or GED

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Must be able to work in a team environment.

Experience in a similar industrial manufacturing operation required.

Experience with ISO-9001 preferred.

Organizational, leadership and motivational skills are required, as well as good analytical and team building abilities.

Must be able to analyze and interpret data, determine sound conclusions, and make recommendations.
