Are you looking for an opportunity to leverage your leadership skills and accelerate quality compliance within a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment? If so, this Site Quality Lead Director role could be an ideal opportunity to explore.

As a Site Quality Lead, you will plan, manage, oversee and control the activities of the Quality Department. In addition, you will ensure that bulk drug substances supplied from the facilities meet defined quality standards and all activities connected with their manufacture are compliant with GSK and national regulatory requirements.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Co-ordinate, manage and ensure that quality-related systems, policies and procedures for the site are relevant, correct and representative of current best practices

  • Guarantee full compliance by the site to meet both GSK and national requirements as outlined in the GSK Quality Management System

  • Ensure that all attributes / elements contributing to product release decisions have been fulfilled promptly in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and regulatory requirements

  • Monitor quarterly progress of audit status from internal and external audits including adequate corrective and preventative action (CAPA) development for each critical observation arising from any audit

  • Develop and use performance measures to track laboratory and batch release performance to gauge, monitor and improve service quality to customers (internal and external).

  • Secure appropriate level of support from shared services to support site Quality operations

  • Promote development of staff skills through the provision of training, job enlargement, assistance with objective setting and broadening of responsibilities so that they are consistent with the needs of the business and provide local succession, where appropriate

  • Ensure that the operations of the department are carried out in a safe and cost-effective manner with due regard to occupational health / hygiene and the environment requirements of the site.

  • Develop and manage the budget for the Department to ensure achievement of operational targets

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Experience managing a team of quality professionals and support staff within the manufacturing business

  • Experience with Quality Systems, Compliance, Validation & Regulatory requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Good knowledge of Laboratory Operations

  • Knowledge of cross functional business processes – manufacturing, engineering etc.

  • Good people management and leadership skills

  • Sound risk management skills
