Optum Rx is looking for a Sr Financial Consultant to support the Personal Care Benefits team. This position is an integral part of the broader Optum Rx finance team providing financial support and leadership to our business partners which includes SG&A management, monthly reporting, month-end close, forecasting/budgeting activities, cost metrics, and revenue reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, perform, and manage the analyses of business and financial metrics as well as performance measures for the Optum Personal Care Benefits business
  • Participate in various improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency across the Optum Rx finance team
  • Develop and maintain financial reports for Optum Personal Care Benefits to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance; and variances to plan, forecast and budget
  • Work closely with the business to develop, recommend, and establish strategies, plans and processes to improve profitability and cost efficiencies
  • Develop, perform, and manage all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the Optum Personal Care Benefits business
  • Prepare and present PowerPoint slides for financial reviews with business partners and finance leadership
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting team members to review and summarize monthly results

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of financial and/or accounting experience
  • Advanced level of MS Excel experience (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc.)
  • Proven excellent communication and presentation skills – the ability to understand and present complex data easily to leadership
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight financial deadlines
  • Proven solid curiosity – our strongest and best are full of business curiosity
  • Proven solid attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Planning and PeopleSoft Financials
  • Experience with month end accounting close process
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment while positively influencing other functional areas

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
