Oracle DBA Sr

Remote job for residents in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Salary: $3,000 - $4,000 USD as a contractor

We manage a large database environment in AWS comprised of Oracle Enterprise on EC2 and Aurora MySQL on RDS. The focus of this team is keeping the environment healthy, stable, and highly available for the SaaS applications these databases support

Responsabilidades

• Upgrading and patching Oracle databases using various techniques for minimal downtime
• Document and maintain operational procedures and standards for business critical databases.
• Manage the operational aspects of Cloud-based and on-prem databases, including security, auditing, backup and recovery.
• Design and implement automated deployment tools and processes.
• Maintain and support development, test and production databases for user access, table changes, performance and troubleshooting.
• Monitor database performance and ensure database availability.
• Test and implement new database features for general use.
• Automate and test backup and recovery solutions for highly available databases across multiple technologies.
• Help design and evaluate major changes to standards and procedures related to database technology direction changes.
• Participate in on-call support.
• Production outage window is typically 9pm Central, so this person needs to be willing to work at that time during times of production upgrades.

Calificaciones y Habilidades

At least 6 years of experience as an Oracle production DBA in a SaaS environment with at least 2 years of experience with AWS RDS and MySQL. Knowledge of the fueling industry is a plus.

Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.5

• Leveraging dynamic groups
• Configuring database monitoring through templates
• Setting up OEM for HA

Backup and recovery

• Oracle secure backup - encrypted backups to s3
• Managing backups through OEM dynamic groups
• Scripting rman automation for non-production refreshes

Oracle Real Application Testing

• Oracle Replay
• SQL Performance analyzer
• Cloning databases for replay

Oracle tuning and diagnostics

Oracle restart usage and installation

Oracle advanced dataguard rolling upgrades with dbms_rolling

SQL Performance tuning

Basic terraform experience

Linux

Shell scripting

PL/SQL

Preferred skill sets:

• Oracle advanced security
