Your role & work environment Credit Management (CM) is looking for a Senior Credit Risk Officer (SCO) Business Banking. CM is responsible for the transaction approval process and portfolio risk management of the Belgian Personal Lending, Business Banking and Wholesale portfolio and is based in Brussels. The department covers all sectors and comprises of approximately 65 FTE. The SCO is responsible to ensure the bank has fit-for-purpose / effective credit risk processes and next to that also takes responsibility for the sector framework and portfolio quality of one or more specific sectors (e.g. T&L, Services, Food & Agri etc.). Next to this role, the function also requires taking up a Regional Risk manager (RRM) and senior credit decider role for Region East. The position is a direct report to the Head of Transactional Approval and is located in Antwerp. Your key responsibilities Advice and decide Responsible for the analysis, assessment and approval (at C1, B4 and B3 decision level) of credit applications/credit movements (new or revisions) of (potential) customers or contribution to this, respecting dedicated limits (sector, RAS, sub-sector etc.). Advise on the B1 files of specific sectors; Monitor and report on developments at individual customers and on key credit risk metrics in the total portfolio and manage the Watchlist process in collaboration with the front office; Closely follow the market development to timely detect key trends; Sector and project management Responsible for functionally leading the (virtual) sector team and activities as defined in the sector framework including internal knowledge development and dissemination for the respective sector, maintenance of sector-specific underwriting frameworks etc.; Works in close collaboration with the Financial Risk Specialist III (Sector Credit Analyst) for the Sector(s) followed; Involved in / Leading working groups on different topics in the Risk domain as needed; Takes ownership to ensure effective E2E credit processes, a.o. on ESG embedding, watchlist, forbearance, covenant monitoring, IRD etc. Manage stakeholders Sparring partner and authority for the Head of Zone and BC directors; Advise decision-making bodies about measures to be taken for identified credit risks; Frequently consult with the (virtual) team, Front Office and clients and stay on top of sector trends and developments in the broader ecosystem. Your knowledge feeds into sector outlooks, asset quality reviews and credit risk alerts; Leadership Coach the team of credit analysts and deciders together with the respective Team Leads; Alternate for the Team Lead Sector Dutch and French; Be part of CRM-TA LT and actively contribute to build a future-proof organization.
