Summary of Purpose

Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Career Services this position works with business and industry, students, faculty, and staff related to programs within the Information Technology and Business areas. This individual will coordinate and support the integration of experiential education with programs and student employment opportunities (including internship, externship, pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship). The position will track experiential, employment and other outcomes to assess performance and effectiveness. **Please note that this Teamsters' position is grant funded with College benefits.**

Typical Duties

This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the employee assigned this title.It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required:

  • Plan and execute career development activities, including employer visits, networking opportunities, and job placement workshops for students related to Career Connectedness including, but not limited to, pre-employment skills training, job/career fair preparation, professional conduct, and Career Services awareness.
  • Oversee the establishment of new job recruiting pipelines which lead directly to employment opportunities for students.
  • Develop/Implement recruitment strategies to locate appropriate student participants for program-related experiential education.
  • Recruit/Maintain employer participation in related experiential education.
  • Develop a talent pipeline from appropriate student participants to experiential learning and employment opportunities with industry employers.
  • Serves as a career information and/or employability skills resource to students, counselors, instructors, staff, and community.
  • Design, develop, and present related orientations regarding experiential education.
  • Assist students in developing appropriate career related skills such as resume writing, job search and interviewing techniques.
  • Research and provide relevant labor market information for students, faculty and staff.
  • Maintain records and other program data on employers and students participating in experiential education within the college's online systems.
  • Work with Faculty Coordinators to review and approve training agreements and learning objectives to ensure that work site evaluations are completed.
  • Participate in Program Advisory Committees (including BILT Model), Career Technical Education committees, and other Information Technology & Business experiential/work related employer groups for associated programs.
  • Evaluate experiential work experiences for purposes of program improvement to increase student success and retention and assist employers in achieving employment outcomes for both students and program graduates.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Human Resources or related field. EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience in student placement, career services, advising, customer service, workforce development or related fields. Experience with information technology and business type industry and employers preferred. Experience with multicultural students and staff preferred. Experience with Salesforce or CRM (Customer Relationship Management) preferred.
