Departmental Objective To support the “Students First” philosophy by providing exemplary service and support to increase the ease of the registration, matriculation and enrollment of students. To promote the success of CNU students as we assist them in achieving their goal of graduation. Purpose of the Position In support of our students with academic accommodations, this position collects, verifies and maintains student academic accommodation documentation and other relevant information and manages the Student Success Testing and Accommodation Center to include the coordination of scheduling, proctoring, and appropriate distribution of completed quizzes, tests, and/or exams. This position routinely communicates with students receiving accommodations and the student's faculty members. As a member of the Office of the Registrar this position will assist with other projects in support of the office goals and serves as an expert on the receipt and processing of student immunization documentation. This position knows and understands complex university policy and federal law such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the Code of Virginia and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and this position effectively responds to questions from students, parents, faculty/staff, and the general public). Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required Education:
  • High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma.
Experience :
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience with confidential records.
  • Experience working with detailed records and/or data.
  • Experience with computer software to include word processing and spreadsheets.
Additional Consideration(s) Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
Experience:
  • Experience using Banner or another student information system.
  • Experience interpreting policies and making decisions within specific policy and procedural guidelines.
  • Experience working in an education setting.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience using SQL developer or another similar reporting tool.
Salary Information Starting at $42,152, Commensurate with Education and Experience CNU Information This position includes Commonwealth of Virginia and Christopher Newport University employee benefits.
