Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall efficiency of our organization.

Duties

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including processing invoices and payments.
• Maintain accurate records for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and process payroll in a timely manner.
• Perform general ledger accounting to ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
• Conduct reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Ensure compliance with governmental accounting regulations and standards.
• Utilize financial software to streamline bookkeeping processes and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.

Skills

• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, payroll processing, and general ledger accounting.
• Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus.
• Solid understanding of financial concepts and principles.
• Experience in public accounting is advantageous but not required.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
