Summary: This job is responsible for preparing the paper medical records for scanning, scanning and indexing of documents and performing quality audits on scanned documents.
Responsibilities: Prepare documents daily for scanning and indexing. Perform scanning process on completed documents on a daily basis. Index scanned documents to the correct patient account and document type. Perform quality audits on documents scanned into the document imaging system. Maintain accuracy and productivity standards to ensure accurate and timely completion of work. Answer telephones and assist as needed. Responds to incoming telephone call by routing or resolving them according to protocol or as trained. Complete data entry as necessary in various aspects of the department; perform additional clerical duties and special projects as requested. Each week submit a daily productivity report. Index and box records for storage. Index and label box records for off-site storage Attend and participate in in-service training and continuing education related to job responsibilities. Pick up documents from assigned departments for scanning. Respond to various chart corrections, misfiled records solving problems; prepare requests for charts located in other departments. Perform other duties as assigned.
