- An emergency hire appointment can work up to 189 days in 12 consecutive months, based on the needs of the disaster.
- Positions are paid on an hourly basis, once a month, during the first week of the month following the closure of the pay period. An emergency hire appointment is not eligible for medical benefits or a retirement program.
- Emergency hire appointments earn state service and sick leave and vacation based upon actual time worked.
- Civil Service Examinations are not required for appointment.

Working Conditions
JFO -Pasadena - This position is Headquartered and reports to the Joint Field office located in Pasadena, CA. DMV Pull Program - Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver's License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions. Must be willing to work in remote areas and makeshift office environment.Minimum Requirements
