GRADUATE STUDENT ASSISTANT (NON-TENURED INTERMITTENT) - OFFICE OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION / HEADQUARTERS/ SACRAMENTO

The reporting location for this position is Office of Historic Preservation in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the supervision of Staff Services Manager I.

The Graduate Student Assistant will serve as an Information Management Unit staff person responsible for digitizing cultural resource management reports and adding cultural resources and their evaluations to OHP's database inventory. Assist OHP staff in locating digital and paper records. Assist California Historical Resources Information System Regional Information Centers to maintain their cultural resource document repositories. Incumbent may also periodically assist in project assignments related to database support for OHP programs. Duties may include filing, taking notes at meetings, packing boxes of documents, shipping or mailing of items, data entry, and working with creating and editing Geographic Information System (GIS) shape files.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

A STUDENT ASSISTANT will also be considered for recruitment purposes.

Employment in all cases for the Student Assistant and Graduate Student Assistant is either as occasional employment or on a part-time basis during the school year. Individuals in these classifications work on an actual hour worked basis to a maximum of 1500 hours. This will allow departments to work employees in these classifications up to 1500 hours in a 12 consecutive month period regardless of the number of days they have worked. The appointment shall not exceed nine months in a 12-month period. Individuals in these classifications receive no permanent status in state service.

This position is designated as telework eligible-remote centered.
