What You'll Do: ✅ Billing & Collections: Manage daily billing for insurance claims and collections for outstanding payor accounts and self-pay encounters. ✅ Account Monitoring & Reconciliation: Reconcile assigned accounts using proper workflows and ensure accurate account resolution. ✅ Knowledge of Programs: Stay updated on third-party carriers, government payors, special programs, and the University Health Financial Assistance program. ✅ Compliance & Regulations: Meet regulatory compliance standards, federal regulations, and department protocols to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards. ✅ Electronic Systems & Customer Service: Use various electronic systems to track and manage accounts while providing excellent customer service. ✅ Problem Solving: Use critical thinking to resolve billing issues independently and efficiently. Minimum Requirements: ✅ High School Diploma or equivalent. ✅ At least two years of experience in a professional or insurance billing environment. ✅ Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement. ✅ Working knowledge of reimbursement comment codes and payer provider manuals. ✅ Computer literacy and ability to use Excel, Word, Outlook, and a 10-key calculator. ✅ Extensive knowledge of third-party billing procedures with the ability to act as a subject matter expert in this area. ✅ Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with payors and patients.
