The Head of Broker Relations is responsible for developing, implementing and leading Broker Strategy across all Meritain commercial segments.
Job Description
A Brief Overview
Designs enterprise-wide and/or cross-functional strategies to collaborate with brokers and consultants. Responsible for using data to identify broker partnership opportunities and then executes across the field teams to drive broker success. Partners with business owners to optimize the achievement of strategic business objectives, to include profitable growth and improved organizational effectiveness.
Reports To: AVP and Chief Market Development Officer, Meritain Health. Meritain is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aetna and a third party administrator for self-funded medical benefit plans.
Responsibilities and Duties
General skills:
- In conjunction with leadership, develop and execute annual business plans for consulting firms that include goals and objectives which are aligned with the Company's strategic business initiatives.
- Have strong knowledge of Meritain's business model and .the unique TPA market.
- Have strong knowledge of the healthcare environment/landscape.
Internal Activities:
- Internally collaborate with Meritain leadership to effectively position Meritain to consultants.
- Support Meritain Sales and Account Teams to troubleshoot and support problem resolution as issues arise with consultants.
- Establish working relationships across Aetna and ensure alignment of broker strategies.
External activities:
- Manage firm-specific scorecards that provide insight into win/loss and retention results.
- Create excellent working relationships at all levels of the targeted TPA firms.
- Look for opportunities to collaborate with consulting firms on best practice initiatives.
- Serve as the voice of the broker and represent their interests within Meritain.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of Sales, Account Management and/or benefits consultant experience with a health plan and/or benefits consulting firm.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, strong business acumen, exemplary listening and questioning skills, ability to work independently and within a team, effective planning and organizational skills, ability to effectively resolve conflict, excellent follow-up and persuasion skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid understanding and success working with National benefit firms, as well as the ability to foster and grow strong business relationships.
- Ability to navigate a large organization.
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualifications, or equivalent work experience.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
