The Role:
The Senior Software Robotics Engineer supports and promotes Robotics Software Engineering within GM's Manufacturing IT organization, aiming to improve manufacturing productivity and efficiency.
This engineer will identify, evaluate, and adopt rapid, iterative robotics software solutions with junior and staff engineers and manufacturing partners. The ideal candidate embraces, executes, and applies transformative robotic technologies, simulation, ML/DL, computer vision, and delivers turnkey solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Define and adopt GM MFG IT Robotics capabilities
- Identify opportunities to update and streamline current robotics engineering processes with Manufacturing Engineering SMEs
- Develop ML/DL solutions in real-world environments
- Implement computer vision solutions
- Design and deploy solutions based on research artifacts
- Utilize simulation and data visualization
- Design solutions at scale to minimize operational overhead
- Understand system and interface constraints for solution building
- Travel as needed to GM plants across the US
