College Guidance Advisor

New England Jewish Academy, an Orthodox pre-K-12 day school in West Hartford, is seeking a part-time College Guidance Advisor. The candidate, who answers to the Head of School, must be knowledgeable in the overall college admissions and testing processes. The advisor will work closely with and support students throughout the process, providing information and resources to ensure students understand requirements and submit accurate and complete applications. The College Guidance Advisor is a team player who collaborates with teachers, administrators, and other faculty members in every aspect of the college application process. Ability to multitask, troubleshoot, and work well with others and under deadlines is a must.

The Advisor will:

• Meet one-on-one with students to facilitate the college application process and testing registration.

• Assist with planning and executing the College Guidance process for students, in conjunction with students and parents.

• Create materials for students and parents to guide the process, such as announcements and newsletters.

• Liaise with college admissions offices.

• Create and submit materials to colleges in support of students.

• Oversee transcript process.

• Collaborate with College Admissions Offices to ensure smooth delivery of documents.

• Assist in scheduling interviews as needed.

• Assist in scheduling school visits as needed.

• Assist with preparing and administering ACT, AP, PSAT, and Pre-ACT.

• Other duties as assigned by administrators to further the goals of college admissions.
