JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing all engineering activities within an organization. Will be responsible for the direction of a dedicated 24-hour team, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and efficiency across all facility systems. The Chief of Engineering will oversee the department budget, maintenance schedules, and capital projects while fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include, but is not limited to the following) 

• Maintain the building operations, improve building operations, and provide a comfortable and safe environment for our guests and employees
• Direct, supervise, and mentor the Engineering and Maintenance team across 24/7 shifts
• Set goals and coordinate for facilities improvement and engineering staff
• Develop and enforce preventive maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems
• Collaborate with other departments to support smooth casino operations and a seamless guest experience
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes, OSHA, and fire safety
• Make sure monthly and yearly fiscal budgets are accurate and completed in a timely manner
• Set up and check on all outside contractor jobs to be completed as scheduled
• Monitor the utilities to save on energy

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• 5+ years of management experience in facilities or engineering, preferably within the hospitality or gaming industry
• Proven experience in a leadership role within facilities or engineering management, preferable in hospitality, casino or entertainment industries
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance operations and safety regulations  
• Proven ability to manage departmental budgets and control costs effectively
• Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
• Relevant certifications are a plus (HVAC, Electrical, Facilities Management) 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position)

• Ability to stand and walk throughout the property for extended periods
• Climbing ladders and stairs and working at heights as necessary
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
• Exposure to varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, dust)
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and standard maintenance equipment
• Visual acuity to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
• Physical ability to respond promptly to emergency situations

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to provide internal/ external guests with service excellence, have excellent communication skills and observation skills, and have an easygoing demeanor to ensure a fun and safe environment for our guests. Above average speech - both speaking and reading/writing English. Need excellent interpersonal skills. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
