AIA Project Accounting Specialist | Kansas City, MO

LHH is partnering with a construction firm seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist with proven experience in AIA billing. This onsite role is ideal for candidates who are familiar with project accounting workflows and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This position is Contract-to-Hire and onsite in Kansas City.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process AIA billing and Time & Materials (T&M) invoices

  • Set up new projects in accounting systems and maintain accurate records

  • Record project labor charges and code expense reports for data entry

  • Assemble and organize backup documentation for client invoicing

  • Maintain and file project accounting data and documentation

  • Support project managers with administrative tasks related to billing and reporting

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry

  • Strong proficiency in AIA billing and project setup

  • Familiarity with T&M billing practices

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Job Details:

  • Job Title: Accounting Specialist

  • Location: Kansas City, MO

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

  • Compensation: $26-28/hour

  • Job Type: Direct Hire
