Paediatric Nurse – European Parliament Crèche (CPE 2 Kirchberg)
Function Group III – Contract Agent
TheEuropean Parliamentseeks an experienced and highly qualified Paediatric Nurse to join the team at its crèche in Kirchberg, Luxembourg. This role involves supporting the Director in managing the crèche, while ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and child development. The Paediatric Nurse will work closely with children, families, and staff to provide comprehensive nursing care and guidance.
Key tasks and responsibilities
1. Health Surveillance and Prevention:
- Organise medical visits and assist the paediatrician in monitoring children’s health.
- Administer medications according to medical prescriptions and internal protocols.
- Develop and implement hygiene, quality, and safety protocols for staff and children.
- Establish and implement care, prevention, and emergency protocols.
- Monitor and supervise meal provision for children.
2. Child Development Support:
- Ensure compliance with crèche regulations and core values.
- Promote physical and psychological well-being of children.
- Support healthy psychomotor and emotional development, building trust with children and parents.
- Foster inclusion and adapt activities to children’s specific needs.
- Provide guidance and support to parents, including advice on child development.
3. Hygiene and Safety:
- Train staff on hygiene and safety best practices.
- Ensure cleanliness of facilities, equipment, and adherence to disinfection protocols.
- Manage health emergencies, including epidemics or accidents.
4. Administrative Management and Coordination:
- Ensure implementation of established protocols.
- Maintain up-to-date medical records and monitor individualised care plans (PAI).
- Plan menus and monitor dietary needs, including allergies and diversification.
- Collaborate with other health professionals (paediatricians, psychologists, therapists).
- Manage medical and small equipment stock.
- Support the Director in staff scheduling, daily management, and absence tracking.
Training and Qualifications:
- Nursing diploma completed with paediatric specialisation or equivalent experience.
- Relevant professional experience in paediatric nursing, preferably in crèche or early childhood settings.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Preventive and curative paediatric nursing, combining technical, relational, and educational expertise.
- Emergency care practices.
- Administrative knowledge relevant to occupational health and inclusion policies.
- Proficiency with IT applications and collaborative platforms used at the European Parliament.
- In-depth knowledge of child development, family-centred care, common childhood illnesses, vaccination programmes, infection control, and emergency procedures in children.
- In-depth knowledge of French (C2) and good knowledge of English (B2).
Desirable Experience:
- Experience managing a crèche or early childhood education setting.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and support parental engagement.
