Summary

The role of the Project Manager is to lead and guide the execution of all the activities related to the overall contract execution including: cost control, scheduling, engineering, design, procurement, fabrication, field construction (if applicable), scope changes from project award, to kick-off, through project execution, and to field commissioning for Engineered Systems projects in the United States.  This work along with any other required data must be accomplished whilst complying with the company standards, the project proposal and the customers' specifications or input.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and/or participate with the development of EPC (turnkey) proposals for integrated gas processing projects.
  • Manage all technical, commercial, contractual and fabrication requirements, from project initiation to closeout, in accordance with Enerflex internal processes and the project execution plan as established in the proposal phase.
  • Organizes the work and project team within the parameters of the company's standards.
  • Concurrent management of multiple projects including Turnkey (EPC) type projects.
  • Preparation of progress report including managing of performance and progress against the plan and ensure accurate forecasts with commensurate action plans.
  • Manage and control engineering and design hours allocated to the job.
  • Protect margin due to scope change; monitor and control project costs using change order management.
  • Communication of all customer needs and work-scope inside Enerflex.
  • Communicate specifications, inspection, and QC requirements inside Enerflex.
  • Communicate commercial terms to the business (penalties, liquidated damages, invoicing, delivery terms).
  • Ensure financial obligations are achieved (bond issue, bank guarantee, sales recognition, payment).
  • Validation and oversight of project schedule timelines.
  • Customer main point of contact, as well as Customer relationship building.
  • Participate in customer meetings:  Kickoff meetings, P&ID, Hazop and Design reviews.
  • Coordination and supervision of all activities related to the overall project execution including engineering, material requisition/expediting, schedule preparation, cost control, delivery/shipping, and quality.
  • Resolve issues that impact schedule, problem solve potential design, commissioning and/or warranty issues for highly customized projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of Project Management Experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of engineering, design, applications or sales, EPC (turnkey) and manufacturing shop floor experience.
  • BS Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or Industrial Distribution is required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License or Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of compression (recip, screw, centrifugal), refrigeration, amine sweetening, glycol dehydration, hydrocarbon recovery, fractionation, dew point control processes as well as related equipment is required for success in this role.
  • Strong self starter skills and ability to perform successfully with limited supervision.
  • Versatile team building skills and ability to coordinate multifunctional teams.
  • Solid Computer/Software/Program skills.
  • Strong design experience as well as a thorough knowledge of codes and safety legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work closely in a team environment with all internal / external stakeholders.
  • Fully comfortable in dealing with customers, fabrication and management teams in the USA and International marketplace.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to perform successfully with limited supervision.
  • EPC Project experience along with exposure to fabrication facilities is a must.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, aptitude for innovation and long-term career interests. 

Physical Requirements

  • Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
  • Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
  • May be exposed to confidential information.
  • Occasionally required to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends.
